Plantain Trees Planted At NESTOIL Camp Gate In Bayelsa (Photos) - Career

Woke up this morning to find this beautiful plantain trees on our accommodation. Thought it was an harvest time.

This is a protest SHUT DOWN by the Imiringi community in Kolo-Creek, Ogbia LGA, Bayelsa state.

Imiringi, Otuasega, Elebele and Oruma communities are hosts to SPDC operators of the KOLO-CREEK OIL AND GAS FIELD in Ogbia LGA.

Currently NESTOIL is the contractor handling the MULTI-BILLION DOLLAR Kolo-Creek( Bayelsa) to Soku( Rivers) - K2S 20" 42km gas line project for SPDC.

Imiringi hosts NESTOIL accomodation camp, site camp for offices and logistics and as well as a land skid.

THEIR REASONS FOR NESTOIL SHUTDOWN
1. Owing of communities contractors for some six month4

2. Owing of communities workers for several months.

3. Deceit and untruthfulness of nestoil in its commitments to wiillingly entered agreements - we will pay tomorrow, then next week syndrome.

4. They are asking for the sack of the Construction Manager, AUSTIN BOB-MANUEL and the Site Manager, AGBANOBI FIDELIS as they can no longer work with him due to their high-handedness and poor administration style.

5. Non maintenance of their roads being spoilt by nestoil light and heavy duty vehicles.

6. Etc....blah blah blah

They have vowed never to reopen the camps until all conditions are met.
