A bricklayer identified as Friday Kanu has been arrested by operatives of the Osun State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps after he raped his wife's nine-year-old sister.
The 35-year-old bricklayer who was arrested after he raped his wife's nine-year-old sister, reportedly confessed to the crime while being interrogated.
The little girl was first raped by the suspect while she was living with her sister. She however got raped again on March 18, 2019 after her sister traveled. The victim’s sister, Odunola Ajayi, said she agreed to Friday’s marriage proposal after she lost her mother to stroke in 2016 and became homeless. She further disclosed that Friday’s behaviour became erratic after he sustained a head injury in an accident, and he had to dispose of most of his belongings to raise money for medical treatment.
